Kwekerij Lendert de Vos BV
Kwekerij Lendert de Vos BV is the outstanding supplier of strong Hydrangea brands and other shrubs. We are the place to source high quality cuttings, young plants and semi-mature plants. Brother and sister Lendert and Wendy are the driving force behind this business. Lendert scouts worldwide to find varieties that always supplement the current range. Wendy is the matchmaker: she selects the plants based on their characteristics and match these to the grower’s requirements.

Propagation and cultivation
After the parental material has been extensively tested, the crop is propagated. This is done in two locations: in Reeuwijk (in Greenport Boskoop), the company’s home base, and in Kenya. The consistent climate means that cuttings can be cultivated in this location throughout the year. The plants are grown in cultivation trays and in the pot sizes 9.5, 10.5, 12 and 14. Kwekerij Lendert de Vos also supplies rooted cuttings in 20, 40 and 84 cell trays.
Requirement for success
The success of a plant brand naturally depends on the quality of the new variety. The plant’s characteristics determine in which market the brand can be successfully launched. That is why collaboration between breeder, propagator and grower is so important. The plant brands are selectively introduced into the market with appropriate marketing support.

Driving force
Lendert de Vos and his sister Wendy started their own nursery in Reeuwijk, in the middle of Greenport Boskoop, 25 years ago. Lendert: “I knew one thing for sure: I wanted to follow my own path, do things my own way. We offer Hydrangea varieties that you can find virtually nowhere else. We’re not interested in the mass-market, but in exclusivity. We’ve succeeded in that.”
Expertise
While Lendert focuses mainly on scouting for new varieties and maintaining contacts with customers, Wendy is the guiding force in the office. “As brother and sister we are very different, but we complement each other well. In the end we want the same thing: for our company to play an important role in this niche market and to develop products with which we and our customers can stand out.”

We receive a lot of questions from private individuals who like to buy plants directly from the grower. To meet this demand we have set up a website www.Hortensia.store where you can order our range, in small or large numbers. We pack the plants and send them to you or you van pick them up directly from our nursery.
